Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company in Danville/San Ramon is seeking an Expert Engineer, Grid Technology to lead energy modeling, prototype testing, and field evaluations across a wide range of grid-edge and utility-scale solutions.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to support both planning and production implementation, including PHIL/CHIL testing, EV integration, and grid health monitoring in an onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electric, mechanical, or related) and 7+ years of related experience.
• Experience with utility-grade testing, modeling, and data analysis.
• Familiarity with PHIL/CHIL testing or grid software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams performing tests and prepare technical reports and specifications.
• Develop grid advancement and electrification strategies with stakeholders.
• Solve complex problems across transmission/distribution and DER integrations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to test protocol development.
• Coordinate test design, execution, and results documentation.
