Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking a Manager/Principal in Engineering/Science to lead the System Performance, Reliability and Resiliency Strategy efforts in Oakland. You will set the technical direction for reliability across the organization and engage IEEE, IEC, and FERC/NERC in standards development while aligning with senior leadership on investments.

The role is hybrid, requiring on-site presence in Oakland several days per week, with remote work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent and minimum six years of experience.
• Desirable: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering; PE license is a plus.
• Travel ~20% with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Manages grid modernization products and programs, aligning and driving the portfolio execution.
• Manages staff through recruitment, training, performance management and recognition.
• Manages budgeting and forecasting for the team’s work.
• Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions.
• Develops cross-organizational solutions and continuous improvements.
• Establishes relationships with external stakeholders (industry/regulatory).
• Collaborates with Managers, Directors, and Senior Directors across functions.
• Explores, innovates, and demonstrates grid technologies for easier integration.
• Represents PG&E as a technical expert in regulatory proceedings and industry groups.
