Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is hiring a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer to provide professional engineering services in planning, construction, operation and maintenance of transmission assets. The role involves modeling, analysis, and coordination of complex projects to meet cost and time objectives, while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Two engineers are being hired, with consideration for a Senior level; the position is safety sensitive and may require pre-employment drug screening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or PE license (or equivalent).
• 8+ years of planning, design, cost estimation, and scheduling experience.
• Strong organization, documentation, prioritization, and project management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform studies and analyses to identify transmission system needs and develop infrastructure projects.
• Develop transmission system models for 10-year planning horizon considering load/resource forecasts.
• Use PowerWorld for complex power system modeling and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and guidelines.
