Job summary

Invenergy LLC in Chicago seeks a Project Engineer for Grid Modeling and Compliance to perform power system modeling and compliance analyses for renewable projects including wind, solar, and HVDC links. You will coordinate with OEMs and engineering firms, develop models, and ensure grid code adherence.

The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, with travel up to 15% and the ability to work in a dynamic, project-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field.
• 3+ years of experience performing power system studies (power flow, transient stability, EMT, short circuit).
• Experience with PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, and ASPEN Oneliner.
• Knowledge of EHV/HV infrastructure and ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Perform grid studies for power electronics and power systems control of renewables and HVDC modeling.
• Develop power system models in PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN Oneliner and other tools.
• Tune power plant controllers with OEMs to meet grid-code requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of NERC standards and related grid modeling guidelines.
• Support interconnection and grid analyses for ISO, utilities and renewable projects.
• Prepare detailed reports/presentations describing analyses and value propositions.
• Attend on-site meetings with ISO, utilities, and vendors.
