Job summary
Invenergy is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to support grid modelling and compliance activities for generation and transmission facilities. You will perform power system studies, develop models, and interact with OEMs to ensure grid-code conformance and reliable operation.
The role requires 2+ years in power system studies, experience with PSS/E/PSLF/PSCAD/Oneliner, and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- 2+ years in power system studies (power flow, transient stability, EMT, short circuit).
- Experience with PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, or ASPEN Oneliner is preferred.
- Knowledge of renewable generation, HV equipment, and grid codes is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform grid studies for renewable generation including HVDC modeling and control.
- Develop power system models in PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN Oneliner.
- Tune plant controllers with OEMs to meet grid code requirements.
- Stay current with NERC standards and IEEE guidelines.
- Support interconnection studies and advising ISO and utilities.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Attend on-site meetings in Chicago with ISO and vendors.
