Job summary

King County's Administrative Services Division seeks a Financial Compliance Manager to lead audit and compliance for federal and state grants, guiding a five-person team and coordinating with CPRES and the FBOD. The role demands strong communication, policy development, and risk management across multiple divisions.

The position reports to the Chief of Financial Strategy and Compliance, overseeing department-wide contract monitoring and ensuring timely audit responses.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to Racial Equity and Social Justice.
• Minimum five (5) years of grants compliance oversight experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, accounting, or finance.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience supervising a grants-compliance team.
• Experience with external and internal audits and government grant management.

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance efforts for federal and state grants and monitoring.
• Collaborate with CPRES and fiscal staff to ensure GAAP and policy adherence.
• Train staff on policies, laws, and grant compliance concepts.
• Provide guidance in financial compliance areas with varying interpretations.
• Develop a department-wide contract monitoring manual and site visits procedures.
• Lead staff development for contract monitoring and field monitoring support.
• Coordinate with WA State Auditor and other auditors on financial audits.
