Job summary

City of Chicago is seeking a Supervisor of Grants Administration in the Chicago Department of Public Health—Finance and Administration. The role supervises grant preparation, review, and compliance for city-wide programs, guiding pre- and post-award activities and staff development.

The position will coordinate grant proposals, budgets, and funder communications, while ensuring adherence to 2 CFR 200 and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Eight years of work experience in grants administration.
• Associate's degree + six years in grants administration.
• Bachelor's degree + four years in grants administration.
• Master's degree + three years in grants administration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the grant application phase, including developing proposals, packaging, and submission for internal approval and to funding agencies.
• Develop and implement standardized operating procedures for pre- and post-award processes.
• Review submitted proposals and post-award amendments for accuracy, completeness and compliance with grant requirements and federal rules.
• Respond to inquiries from funders and provide necessary documentation.
• Provide trainings and workshops, and ensure staff receive guidance in grant proposal development, management, and 2 CFR 200 compliance.
• Work with program staff to create funding plans that support Healthy Chicago and search for matching grant opportunities.
• Prepare all grant-related City Council appropriation ordinances and coordinate department representation at Council hearings.
• Manage grant staff and provide supervision, development and training.
• Support the preparation of management reports on the section's work accomplishments.
