Job summary

National Grants Management Association in Chicago seeks an experienced Grants Manager to coordinate the grant application phase, develop proposals, package submissions for internal approval, and distribute to funding agencies.

You will review programmatic and budget plans, support SOP development for pre- and post-award activities, respond to funder inquiries, train staff, and help identify funding opportunities to support Healthy Chicago initiatives and related council processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates grant applications, develops proposals, packages, and submits to internal approvers and funding agencies.
• Meets with program directors to discuss financial needs.
• Reviews programmatic and budgetary plans from program directors.
• Supports SOP development for pre- and post-award processes.
• Reviews proposals and post-award amendments for accuracy and compliance with grant requirements and federal rules.
• Responds to funder inquiries and provides required documentation.
• Provides trainings and workshops, ensuring staff receive guidance on grant proposal development, management, and 2 CFR 200 compliance.
• Works with program staff to create funding plans aligned with Healthy Chicago and searches for matching grant opportunities.
• Prepares grant-related City Council appropriation ordinances with the Office of Budget and Management and coordinates hearings.
• Manages grant staff with direct supervision and ongoing development.
• Supports preparation of management reports on the section's accomplishments.
