Job summary

CARITAS Richmond is seeking a technically driven accountant to join our small but mighty nonprofit Finance team. This full-time, exempt role reports directly to the CFO and is an on-site position at our Stockton Street location, with a pay range of $65,000 to $75,000.

Key duties include supporting the Development team with grants, revenue recognition, reimbursements, audits, and month-end close, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of broad accounting experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Nonprofit/Grant experience is a plus.
• QuickBooks experience is a plus.
• Office and Google Suite experience (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries
• Account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with GAAP Principles
• Assist with audits
• Support month-end and year-end close
• Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Monthly reports and metrics generation
• Reimbursement submissions, report submissions, and other grant related activities
