Job summary

FamilyCare is seeking a Grant Accountant to manage financial reporting for grant awards across federal, state, local, and private sources. The role ensures GAAP compliance and accurate grant budgeting, with close collaboration with program leadership to steward funds effectively.

Based at our Teays Valley office, this full-time position requires on-site work, strong Excel and accounting software skills, and the ability to prepare reports and reimbursements on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of grant accounting experience, preferably with federal, state, and local grants.
• Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and grant compliance requirements.
• Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial accounting and reporting for all federal, state, local, and private grants, ensuring compliance with grant agreements, GAAP, and Uniform Guidance as applicable.
• Prepare grant reimbursement requests, PMS drawdowns, FFRs, and other required financial reports; monitor expenditures, budgets, receivables, and deferred revenue.
• Support the Foundation by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, and assisting with reporting.
• Prepare grant- and foundation-related journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate and lead monthly grant review meetings with program leadership to review activity, performance, compliance, and funding utilization.
• Assist the accounting dept with month-end close, year-end close, budget prep, audit support, and other finance projects.
