NVIDIA is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer to advance open-source Linux kernel support for GPU virtualization. You will develop virtualization features in Rust and C, contribute to the upstream kernel, and collaborate with maintainers and partners across distributed teams.

You will own vGPU enablement in Nova, work with KVM/QEMU/VFIO, and drive upstream discussions while ensuring robust device lifecycle, memory management, and performance.

Qualifikationen

• BS degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of Linux kernel development or virtualization experience.
• Contributions accepted into upstream Linux kernel; patch series experience.
• Proficiency in Rust and C with memory safety in mind.
• Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals and device-driver model.
• Strong virtualization expertise including host/guest interactions and isolation.

Aufgaben

• Design and maintain upstream Linux kernel support for NVIDIA GPU virtualization including vGPU in Nova.
• Work with KVM, QEMU, VFIO on device assignment and memory management.
• Drive patch proposals through upstream review processes with maintainers.
• Review contributions and address feedback from subsystem maintainers.
• Debug and resolve functional, performance, and reliability issues in host drivers and firmware interfaces.
• Collaborate with internal teams and open-source communities to define features and ensure upstream compatibility.
