Job summary

VSCO is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to be a primary contributor on Reflex, our production GPU image-processing engine, and to guide its path into Studio Pro on iOS and macOS. You will deepen a stack with RAW, large-image export, and desktop parity, emphasizing color accuracy, memory, and performance.

You will work with Product, Design, and Engineering to translate business goals into technical direction, balancing long-term architecture with delivering value to customers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in engineering with production rendering/imaging/GPU compute background
• Deep GPU/rendering experience including pipelines, shaders, color, and memory
• Strong systems language experience; Rust strongly preferred; reading/writing shaders (WGSL, Metal)
• Experience bringing imaging/graphics work to mobile (memory budgets, encode/decode, thermal/GPU limits); iOS/Metal preferred
• Experience taking ideas from concept to production in an existing product
• AI-assisted developer workflows integrated into development processes

Responsibilities

• Be a primary contributor on the Reflex imaging engine and GPU budgets
• Ship engine changes through the native bridge into Studio Pro on iOS and macOS
• Take imaging capabilities from design to production (RAW develop, tiled export, parity with VSCO stack)
• Diagnose production graphics issues (OOM, cache eviction, encode/decode)
• Develop and maintain render/pipeline contracts so mobile and desktop stay coherent
• Improve workflows with packaging/CI and AI tools
• Partner with Product/Design/Engineering to align technical direction with business goals
