Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff GPU RTL Firmware Engineer at our Austin, TX center to shape firmware for next‑generation mobile GPUs, including CP and RLC control that orchestrates GPU execution and system management.

You will collaborate with architecture, RTL, software, and validation teams to influence interfaces, drive firmware architecture, and mentor junior engineers while advancing scalable, production‑ready GPU IPs across product generations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of firmware development experience with Bachelor's degree or 8+ years with a Master’s or 6+ years with a Ph.D.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++/Assembly.
• Experience with GPU/SoC architecture including CP/RLC and hardware–software interaction.
• RTL design knowledge and Verilog/SystemVerilog experience.
• Familiarity with GPU pipelines and graphics APIs (Vulkan, OpenGL, Direct3D, OpenCL).
• Hands-on RISC‑V firmware development, bring‑up, and debugging.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills with proactive communication.

Responsibilities

• Shape design and development of control firmware for next‑generation mobile GPUs (CP/RLC).
• Collaborate with architecture, RTL, software and validation teams to influence interfaces and enable scalable GPU IPs.
• Drive firmware architecture, bring‑up, debug and validation while guiding RTL design decisions.
