Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with federal, state, and local government clients, delivering end-to-end data, AI, and application solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement production-grade systems with strong customer empathy and cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires 5+ years in data engineering or software engineering, fluency in Python/Scala/JavaScript, cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP),

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Fluency in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Experience with two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of performant production end-to-end data architectures and applications.
• Experience with technical project delivery, documentation and white-boarding.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solutions for government customers on Databricks platform.
• Own architecture and design decisions across data, AI, and applications.
• Integrate with client systems and deliver with strong customer empathy.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope technical delivery.
• Provide accelerators, frameworks, and best practices for scale across accounts.
