Job summary

Effingham County is seeking a seasoned Accountant to manage advanced governmental accounting, payroll-finance, reconciliation, reporting, and analytics for the County’s financial operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
• At least five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting, auditing, governmental finance, or payroll-accounting experience.
• Experience with payroll processing, financial reporting, and internal controls in a governmental setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate and timely financial information and prepares analyses, reconciliations, schedules, and reports.
• Coordinates with departments on project status, funding, budgets, expenditures, and required documentation.
• Prepares and records payroll-related journal entries and reconciles payroll to GL and reporting systems.
