Cherry Bekaert Staffing & Recruiting is partnering with an established government contractor seeking a Senior Billing Accountant to support a high-volume billing function during a critical period. This hands-on role requires experience with federal contracts and DCAA-compliant workflows.

The ideal candidate will have comprehensive FAR knowledge, ICS experience, and a track record in Unanet and complex Excel analyses.

Qualifications

5+ years of billing or accounting experience within a government contracting environment.
Experience with FAR, ICS, DCAA, and government contract billing practices.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas).
Experience preparing reconciliations, billing schedules, and supporting documentation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare and submit customer invoices for government contracts per contract terms.
Review billing transactions for accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
Ensure compliance with FAR, DCAA, and company billing policies.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies and unbilled balances.
Reconcile billing and accounts receivable to the general ledger.
Support indirect rate and contract cost analysis as needed.
Assist with month-end close activities, reporting, and reconciliations.
Generate ad hoc billing reports and analyses for management.
Collaborate with accounting and contracts teams for accurate project setup.
Maintain documentation to support audits and government reviews.
