Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager with a government contracting background to join our Springfield, VA accounting team. This hands-on role emphasizes accounts payable and government contract accounting, with duties in GL, billing, payroll, and month-end close.

The ideal candidate has Deltek Costpoint experience and solid FAR and DCAA knowledge, plus supervisory experience for one staff member.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Government contracting accounting experience required.
• Deltek Costpoint experience required.
• Strong knowledge of FAR and DCAA requirements.
• Accounts payable experience including invoice processing and vendor management.
• Experience with government contract billing and subcontractor invoices.
• Payroll processing and timekeeping experience.
• General ledger, journal entries, and month‑end close experience.
• Audits support experience; supervisory or team leadership preferred.

Responsabilités

• Manage day-to-day accounts payable processing, including invoice review and payments.
• Process and review employee expense reports.
• Vendor setup and maintaining vendor relationships.
• Process and review subcontractor invoices.
• Assist payroll processing and payroll review.
• Oversee timekeeping and resolve related issues.
• Handle customer billing and invoicing.
• Support accounting for government contracts.
• Assist with project setup and Costpoint maintenance.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Support monthly close and GL reconciliations.
• Assist with audit requests and compliance needs.
