Cherry Bekaert LLP in the Fairfax, VA area is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant with government contracting experience to support general accounting, government billing, inventory accounting, and month-end close in a DCAA-compliant environment.

This primarily remote role requires local presence for onsite onboarding and occasional reporting onsite as needed. You will manage GL, billings including WAWF, cost tracking, audits, and mentoring a Staff Accountant.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Government contracting and DCAA experience required.
• Strong government billing/WAWF experience required.
• Hands-on inventory accounting experience required.
• Strong GL, reconciliation, and month-end close experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Unanet experience is a plus, not required.

Responsabilités

• Manage GL accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
• Prepare and submit government contract billings, including WAWF
• Support AP, AR, job cost accounting, and financial reporting
• Manage inventory accounting, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and discrepancy resolution
• Support DCAA, financial, and internal control audits
• Review work and provide guidance to a Staff Accountant
