Job summary

CHAOS Industries is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to lead and govern cloud infrastructure strategy across defense and GovCon programs. This high-impact role requires partnering with ISSMs, program managers, and engineering teams to ensure mission-ready, compliant cloud solutions across classified and unclassified environments.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or solutions architecture.
• Minimum of 4 years designing cloud solutions for DoD, IC, or federal government programs.
• Hands-on experience with production workloads on AWS GovCloud and/or Azure Government, including multi-account/ multi-subscription landing zones.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the enterprise cloud architecture across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, and on‑premise/hybrid environments.
• Develop cloud architecture documentation including solution design docs, network diagrams, data flow maps, and ATO supporting artifacts.
• Define and enforce cloud security architecture standards including Zero Trust, IAM, encryption, and workload isolation patterns.
• Lead cloud migration planning and execution across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Architect secure, high-availability cloud networks (VPC/VNET, transit gateways, private connectivity) and cross-domain solutions.
• Collaborate to develop Cloud Security Plans, SSPs, and continuous monitoring strategies.
• Establish IaC standards using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Bicep; create auditable deployment pipelines.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and provide build-vs-buy analyses for CIO reviews.
• Serve as technical authority for cloud architecture on programs; engage government customers and prime contractors.
• Mentor cloud engineers and establish governance processes; travel up to 10% CONUS.
