Job summary

WunderGraph is seeking a Senior/Staff Golang Engineer to develop, refactor and maintain the GraphQL Go Tools Router open-source code. You will work with teammates to extend Router capabilities, focusing on performance, security, and stability.

The role requires deep Go expertise, experience with ASTs, and a proactive, self-driven approach in a fully remote environment. You are expected to benchmark Go code, review telemetry, and potentially run penetration tests, while collaborating with

Qualifications

• Senior/Staff level of proven Golang development experience in a leading/ownership role.
• Self-starter with a clear sense of priorities - no hand-holding needed.
• Experience with ASTs, AST transformations.
• Experience in writing performant and low GC Go code and benchmarking.
• Able to work in a fully remote environment and communicate in English.
• Willing to travel occasionally and align with CET time zone.

Responsibilities

• Develop, refactor and maintain GraphQL Go Tools' (Router) open-source code base in Golang (low GC code).
• Work closely with engineering team on Router capabilities (e.g. Open Federation, new data sources).
• Focus on performance, security and stability of the Router.
• Review Router telemetry to identify areas of improvement.
• Run internal penetration tests of the Router.
• Troubleshoot Router issues, potentially with customers' engineers.
• Analyze and accept open-source contributions on GitHub.
