Job summary

Supabase is seeking a skilled engineer to advance its Auth features, written in Go with client libraries in TypeScript. You will own secure authentication, scale, and reliability across a large Postgres-backed platform.

The role involves collaborating across stacks, contributing RFCs, and improving observability while supporting a global developer community. Fully remote work model with global team exposure.

Qualifications

• 4+ years writing Go in production.
• 2+ years working on an authentication system.
• Strong relational DB experience (Postgres or MySQL); Postgres a bonus.
• Good knowledge of TypeScript in addition to Go.
• Strong knowledge of web tech fundamentals (cookies, sessions, JWT, HTTP).
• Deep interest in authentication security (OAuth, OIDC, SAML, crypto basics).
• Experience with Next.js or SSR frameworks and Ruby on Rails, Django, Laravel, or equivalent.
• Proven ability to write RFCs and operate services at scale.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing secure, scalable authentication features in Go and TypeScript.
• Working across the stack from server-side protocols to client-side libraries for frameworks like Next.js.
• Owning performance, reliability, and scalability of the Auth server across Supabase infrastructure.
• Contributing to the evolution of Auth architecture including OAuth, OIDC, SAML.
• Planning and executing safe database migrations across a large fleet of Postgres instances.
• Building and improving observability: metrics, tracing, alerting, dashboards.
• Writing and reviewing RFCs as part of our product development process.
• Collaborating with engineers across Supabase to ensure a seamless developer experience.
