Job summary

Supabase is seeking engineers to build Supabase Lite, a lightweight TypeScript-native backend that runs on SQLite and PostgreSQL. You will own substantial areas end-to-end, shaping core APIs, tooling, and docs from day one.

The role offers full autonomy in an early-stage team, with a focus on compatibility, correctness, and a great developer experience. Remote work is available globally, with equity and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong backend or full-stack experience with TypeScript
• Solid grounding in SQL and relational databases
• Experience with backend systems, frameworks, or developer platforms
• Familiarity with open-source development and contribution practices

Responsibilities

• Grow API compatibility with the Supabase client across platforms
• Bring more of the Supabase stack to SQLite
• Own the migration path from Supabase Lite to full Supabase
• Own the developer experience including CLI and docs
• Build scalable hosted offerings with near-zero cost and modular design
• Collaborate with design partners to reduce migration friction
• Engage with the open-source community and contribute back to the stack
