Job summary

Weave is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale backend services and APIs in a remote-friendly setup. You’ll collaborate with teams across the U.S. and India to ensure reliable, secure systems powering 30K+ healthcare practices.

You’ll own architecture, drive scalability, and mentor peers while delivering high-impact features in Go and related tech such as microservices, gRPC, and cloud deployments. Join us to elevate patient care.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend experience with Go or similar languages.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and inter-service communication.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Go.
• Drive architecture and long-term system health by anticipating scaling and maintenance needs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver high-impact features.
• Participate in system design reviews, propose and implement robust solutions, and contribute to Weave’s engineering strategy.
• Own the quality, reliability, and observability of your code from development to production.
• Help plan and execute projects from inception to delivery, with ownership and outcomes.
• Mentor peers and junior engineers by sharing knowledge and encouraging best practices.
