Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own a Go codebase, collaborate with product and design, and deliver robust features for a remote-first environment. You will drive architectural decisions, optimize performance, and mentor engineers as part of a small, autonomous team.

We value production Golang experience, strong database skills, and the ability to work across departments.

Qualifications

• CS degree or equivalent knowledge, professional programming experience.
• Strong production experience in Golang and backend systems.
• Proficient in relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL).
• Experience mentoring other engineers is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Own a domain inside the Go codebase and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with product/design to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Step in and take charge when leads are away and mentor others.
• Deliver features aligned with the roadmap and remove blockers.
• Incorporate AI tooling to speed up development and experimentation.
