Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security seeks an Experienced Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer for the MQ-25 Flight Engineering team in Hazelwood, MO. You will define requirements, develop simulations, and implement control laws to meet performance targets.

Responsibilities include model validation, DO-178B/C activities, and collaboration with VMS software engineers. 1st shift, relocation available, US citizenship requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years related work experience.
• 3+ years in Guidance, Navigation, and Control engineering.
• Experience with Vehicle Management Systems or PID design.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX/Systembuild.

Responsibilities

• Define GNC requirements with quality, traceability and verification across system levels.
• Perform design reviews, analyses, simulations and testing to meet customer requirements.
• Develop and refine 6-DOF simulation models using multidisciplinary data.
• Develop, implement and test vehicle models and control software in C/C++, FORTRAN, Python.
• Design flight guidance and control laws to meet performance targets.
• Perform nonlinear analyses to refine control laws; validate models against test data.
• Develop supplementary controllers, limiters, and redundancy management.
• Integrate control laws into flight software with MS/flight simulation teams.
• Maintain Air Data sensor processing and CFD-based error corrections.
• Participate in DO-178B/C software verification activities.
• Coordinate autonomous contingency strategies across teams.
