Job summary

Actalent in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to design, develop, and verify GNC systems for advanced aerospace applications. You will develop autopilot algorithms, perform target state estimation, and contribute to high-fidelity simulations and field testing.

This hybrid role pairs lab work with field activity and requires collaboration with DoD customers in secure environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in GNC.
• Proficiency with Matlab, Python, Simulink, and C++.
• Experience in simulation control and estimation, mechanical design, and control system design.
• Experience with state space, 6DOF, and FPGA.
• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and analyze guidance, navigation, and control algorithms.
• Develop autopilot and control laws for dynamic systems.
• Perform target state estimation, filtering, and sensor fusion.
• Develop and maintain simulations and models to support system design and verification.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, and system-level testing.
• Assist with field testing and customer-supported test activities as required.
• Collaborate with systems, software, and test engineering teams.
