Job summary

CohesionForce, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software GNC Engineer to join our mission-focused team. The role covers requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, integration, and support to formal test and delivery.

The successful candidate will have experience in guidance, navigation, and control, with C/C++ programming and MATLAB/Simulink proficiency, and must hold an active Secret clearance to start.

Qualifications

• Broad technical skills such as rigid body dynamics, control theory, and/or computer programming.
• Proven experience using MATLAB and/or Simulink for simulation and analysis of feedback control systems, closed loop guidance, or navigation algorithms.
• C/C++ programming experience.
• Demonstrate strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and/or transformation.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, science, or technology degree with 5 years of experience, or a Master’s degree in a related field with less than 3 years of experience, or 0 years of related experience with a PhD.
• An active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities.
• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
• Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Ensures software standards are met.
