Job summary

Blue Origin on Merritt Island, FL is seeking a Navigation Hardware Engineer to help develop system-level requirements for inertial navigation, GPS, cameras, and other sensors, translating them into subsystem designs and verification methods.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team on the Lunar Permanence program, performing tests from component to flight and contributing to cleanroom integration and avionics verification.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in engineering, aerospace preferred.
• Experience with GN&C hardware: IMUs, GPS, star trackers.
• Leadership in integration and test in cleanrooms.
• Proficiency in avionics requirements and SOWs.
• Familiarity with spacecraft avionics protocols (RS-422, SpaceWire).
• IPC-3 Space Addendum standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop navigation hardware requirements from system-level specs.
• Design navigation hardware configuration and perform performance trades.
• Procurement and coordination of navigation hardware; verify and certify.
• Lead testing such as flight, thermal vacuum, and vibration tests.
• Support navigation hardware test campaigns and sensor characterization.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop and on-vehicle testing.
• Support component-level navigation test programs.
