Job summary

Trade Compliance Recruiting Solutions is seeking an Import Export Manager to ensure U.S. import/export compliance and to maintain global trade policies, with a focus on CBP and EAR rules. This 100% in-office role is based in Farmington Hills, MI, with options across IL and TN as needed.

The role requires 5-7+ years in trade compliance, HTS/valuation expertise, FTZ/duty drawback experience, and strong communication skills. Domestic and international travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB) preferred.
• 5-7+ years of trade compliance experience, focused on import logistics.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. import regulations, HTS classification, valuation and PGA.
• Strong knowledge of Free Trade Agreement programs, emphasis on USMCA.
• Experience with Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) and duty drawback programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (≈10%).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with import and export laws, focusing on U.S. Customs regulations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impact.
• Develop and maintain global trade compliance policies, procedures, and training.
• Support audits, post-entry reviews, and compliance assessments.
• Lead product HTS & ECCN classification, valuation, origin, and FTA eligibility.
• Manage export license processes under EAR regulations.
• Determine AD/CVD case numbers and rates.
• Serve as primary contact for CBP inquiries and investigations.
• Track trade KPIs and provide insights to leadership.
