Job summary

Trade Compliance Recruiting Solutions is seeking an Import Export Manager to ensure U.S. import/export compliance and to maintain global trade policies, with a focus on CBP and EAR rules. This 100% in-office role is based in Farmington Hills, MI, with options across IL and TN as needed.

The role requires 5-7+ years in trade compliance, HTS/valuation expertise, FTZ/duty drawback experience, and strong communication skills. Domestic and international travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB) preferred.
• 5-7+ years of trade compliance experience, focused on import logistics.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. import regulations, HTS classification, valuation and PGA.
• Strong knowledge of Free Trade Agreement programs, emphasis on USMCA.
• Experience with Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) and duty drawback programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (≈10%).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with import and export laws, focusing on U.S. Customs regulations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impact.
• Develop and maintain global trade compliance policies, procedures, and training.
• Support audits, post-entry reviews, and compliance assessments.
• Lead product HTS & ECCN classification, valuation, origin, and FTA eligibility.
• Manage export license processes under EAR regulations.
• Determine AD/CVD case numbers and rates.
• Serve as primary contact for CBP inquiries and investigations.
• Track trade KPIs and provide insights to leadership.

The Import Export Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. import and export

regulations and maintaining global trade compliance policies and procedures, with a primary focus on CBP and EAR rules and regulations

This is a 100% in-office position based in Long Grove, IL, Jackson, TN, or Farmington Hills, MI.

EXPECTATIONS

• Ensure compliance with import and export laws, with a primary focus on U.S. Customs regulations
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their business impact
• Develop and maintain global trade compliance policies, procedures, and training
• Support internal and external audits, post-entry reviews, and compliance assessments
• Lead product HTS & ECCN classification, valuation, country of origin, and FTA eligibility
• Manage export license process following EAR regulations and requirements
• Determine and apply Antidumping and Countervailing Duty (AD/CVD) case numbers and rates
• Serve as the primary point of contact for CBP trade compliance inquiries and investigations
• Track trade KPIs and provide insights to senior leadership

ESSENTIALS

• 5- 7+ years of trade compliance experience, focused on import logistics
