Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Global Commodity Manager to lead the Semiconductor & Tier 1 Supply Base Constraints & Resilience team. This leader will own the operating model for managing supplier risk, protecting continuity of supply, and coordinating rapid responses to disruptions across the semiconductor ecosystem and GM direct Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.

The role requires strong semiconductor supply-chain expertise, executive communication, and the ability to move quickly from risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (supply chain, engineering, business, operations)
• 8+ years in semiconductor supply chain, supplier management, or related roles
• Experience leading teams and driving results across complex supplier networks
• Strong communication with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of semiconductor supplier managers
• Oversee risk management of semiconductor supply and allocations
• Develop resilience plans for manufacturing footprint and alternate sources
• Coordinate with Tier-1 and Tier-N suppliers on recovery actions
• Escalate critical supplier risks and communicate impacts to executives
• Drive governance, reporting, and performance metrics across the team
• Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, and leadership
