Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Global Commodity Manager to lead our Semiconductor & Tier 1 Supply Base Constraints & Resilience team. This leader will own the operating model for managing semiconductor supplier risk, protecting continuity of supply, and coordinating rapid responses to disruptions across the semiconductor ecosystem and GM direct Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.

You will build resilient supplier relationships, develop mitigation strategies, and drive executive-aligned actions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
8+ years in semiconductor supply chain or related area.
Proven leadership of high-performing teams.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Willingness to travel 25% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and performance-manage a team of semiconductor supplier managers.
Establish clear supplier ownership, governance, escalation paths, and operating standards.
Oversee proactive and reactive management of semiconductor supply risks, including capacity constraints and disruptions.
Build and execute supplier-resilience plans covering manufacturing footprint and recovery actions.
Lead cross-functional resolution with engineering, purchasing, supply chain, quality, and GM leadership.
Translate business strategy into direction, priorities, and accountability for the team.
