Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, CT seeks an experienced engineer to review and approve critical manufacturing processes for aftermarket engine hardware, including welding, heat treatment, and surface finishing. You will qualify supplier repairs to DER-approved data, evaluate materials, and analyze test data to support process qualifications.

The role involves detailed document work, process monitoring, and occasional travel to verify readiness and estimate repair costs across global sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience with 8+ years in relevant areas.
• Alternate advanced degree with at least 5 years of related experience accepted.
• Experience across multiple manufacturing and materials processing disciplines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve critical processes across aftermarket sources for engine hardware.
• Qualify supplier repair processes to meet DER‑approved technical data requirements.
• Assess material and processing needs and evaluate turbine engine hardware and materials.
• Review operation sheets, process monitoring, NDE, destructive testing, and hardware evaluations.
• Conduct pilot testing of chemical processes and material property analysis.
• Document data/results to substantiate process qualification and generate standard work.
• Travel globally to witness process readiness, identify repair steps, and estimate costs.
