Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for the Hot Section Module Center South (HSMC-S). You will partner with manufacturing and inspection teams to drive root cause, evaluate processes, and ensure aerospace quality and regulatory compliance for turbine airfoils used in military and commercial engines.

The role requires strong communication, AS9100 experience, FAI, and continuous improvement tools. Onsite work with a focus on hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years in manufacturing, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience with AS9100 quality systems.
• Experience with FAI and work instruction reviews.
• Ability to communicate with shop floor and customers.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and lean tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical quality partner to manufacturing and inspection teams, working directly with shop-floor personnel to identify process risks, resolve quality issues, and ensure turbine airfoils meet engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes for compliance to applicable requirements.
• Support day-to-day manufacturing activities such as review and approval of work instructions, PAR, and FAI.
• Perform analysis of quality nonconformances.
• Support shop non-compliance investigations to determine root cause and track corrective actions.
• Support preparation for third party and customer quality audits.
• Support product escape investigations and population bounding efforts.
• Construct and perform quality presentations to a technical community.
