Job summary

Hoffman Construction seeks a Senior Payroll Administrator to act as a subject matter expert in our Lake Oswego, OR office. You will lead full-cycle payroll for domestic, multi-state and international employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and regulatory compliance.

This role partners with Finance, HR and IT, supports system improvements and audits, and mentors payroll staff. On-site work offers competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of full-cycle payroll experience including multi-state payrolls.
• Experience with international payroll preferred.
• Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP platform preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll process for salaried and hourly employees.
• Interpret wage and hour laws and internal policies to resolve complex payroll issues.
• Advise management on payroll tax implications and internal controls.
• Validate compensation data, calculate adjustments, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll systems for domestic and international employees.
• Assist with payroll tax withholdings, unemployment, and other payments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international laws.
• Coordinate quarterly/annual tax filings and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with external tax vendors and internal departments.
• Prepare ad-hoc payroll reports and maintain payroll records.
• Support audits with documentation and responses to inquiries.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Document and communicate payroll procedures across the team.
• Provide guidance to payroll staff to ensure accuracy and service.
