Job summary

Mimecast seeks a Principal Network Engineer to own global network design, build, and operations across offices, delivering reliable and secure connectivity for a hybrid workforce. You’ll troubleshoot complex WAN/LAN issues, collaborate with Security and IT teams, and drive automation to improve efficiency.

Qualifications include extensive enterprise networking experience, Juniper/Mist, Meraki, Aruba, and SASE/ZTNA expertise, plus strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive enterprise network engineering experience designing and supporting multi-site networks.
• Experience with Juniper Mist, EX switches, and SRX firewalls across deployments.
• Proficiency with Cisco Meraki for cloud‑managed switching/wireless/security.
• Experience deploying Aruba wireless across large environments.
• Knowledge of SASE/ZTNA enabling secure hybrid cloud/remote connectivity.
• RF planning with Wi‑Fi 6/6E/7 and site surveys.
• Strong networking protocol knowledge: BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, VPN, QoS.
• Scripting for automation (Python/Ansible) to improve operations.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and user experience focus.

Responsibilities

• Own design, build, and maintenance of Mimecast’s global network infrastructure across offices and campuses.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex LAN/WAN/SD‑WAN/WLAN issues for hybrid workforce.
• Collaborate with Security to implement network security policies and segmentation.
• Partner with Workspace/IT to ensure networks support collaboration tools and hybrid work.
• Maintain comprehensive network documentation and runbooks.
• Lead upgrade projects and refresh initiatives to improve performance and scalability.
• Leverage automation to reduce manual effort and standardize configurations.
• Engage with stakeholders to evolve network to meet changing needs.
