Job summary

Brivo seeks a Compliance Engineer to act as the technical SME for global product compliance, safety, EMC, energy efficiency, and wireless certifications across Brivo’s hardware portfolio. You’ll define market‑access strategies, work with cross‑functional teams from concept to end‑of‑life, and manage relationships with testing labs and NRTLs.

You will lead safety certifications with NRTLs (UL, MET, ETL, CSA, TÜV), oversee regional regulatory approvals (CE, UKCA, CB Scheme), and coordinate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or related field (or equivalent).
• 7+ years in product compliance, regulatory engineering, or product safety certification for hardware/electronics.
• Experience obtaining NRTL certifications (UL, MET, ETL, CSA, TÜV) and working with third‑party labs.
• Strong knowledge of CE marking, FCC, ISED, and international market-access procedures.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, PCB layouts, mechanical drawings, and component specs.
• Experience leading multiple certification projects, budgets, and lab schedules.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop global compliance strategies and country‑by‑country certification plans.
• Lead safety certifications with NRTLs (UL, MET, ETL, CSA, TÜV)
• Manage CE marking, UKCA, CB Scheme, and regional market access.
• Coordinate EMC, wireless, energy compliance testing and approvals.
• Direct environmental and materials compliance (RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Prop 65).
• Translate standards into engineering requirements during early product design.
• Maintain DoC, regulatory labeling, and BOM traceability.
