The vision for Procure to Pay (P2P) at Microsoft is to provide frictionless end-to-end payments that reduce user time, enable scalable operations, and go beyond being a cost center. The P2P team manages approximately $100B in payments to third parties and $30B to employees annually. P2P operations are outsourced as a managed service supporting around 200 subsidiaries worldwide. Major initiatives are underway to influence Accounts Payable across all service lines.

The Senior Global Accounts Payable Manager will oversee our Accounts Payable (AP) operations end-to-end. You will lead complex operational programs from initiation to delivery, using industry best practices, and provide thought leadership to the AP Operations team. This role involves engagement with stakeholders at all levels across Microsoft, including Finance Controls and Compliance, Procurement, Treasury, BPO partners, and Business Group leaders. You should demonstrate leadership, business partnering skills, and a track record of managing processes and influencing teams.

Responsibilities

• Leverage industry knowledge to drive process excellence in Accounts Payable.
• Maintain a robust control environment, monitor AP systems, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Implement the organization’s outsourcing strategy across P2P programs.
• Identify root causes of process issues, assess risks, and improve SOPs and policies.
• Coordinate with business partners to meet their needs and enhance support services.
• Manage outsourced AP functions globally, monitor KPIs and SLAs.
• Coordinate training for internal teams.
• Review reconciliations, AP aging reports, and sign-offs.
• Work with auditors, government agencies, and taxing authorities for data provision.
• Align AP activities with strategic objectives, using data to support business cases.
• Influence change based on leadership strategies, and support a customer-obsessed service approach.
• Challenge existing processes and innovate to improve service, metrics, and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years in program/process management or process improvement.
• OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in accounting, finance, or financial operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related fields.
• 6+ years in Operations, Accounting, AP, Finance, or Project Management.
• 2+ years in shared services environments.
• Experience managing global P2P in large organizations.
• Process excellence in outsourcing/shared services.
• Strategic, tactical skills, and change management ability.
• Comfort with ambiguity and data-driven decision making.
• Tax knowledge related to AP for domestic and international payments.
• Excellent communication skills across all organization levels.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

The typical base pay range in the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 annually, with higher ranges in specific locations like San Francisco and New York City. Additional benefits may apply. Applications are accepted until May 30, 2025.
