Job summary

Fearless seeks a Technical Accounting Architect to design, assess, and modernize complex government financial systems. This role bridges Accounting, Operations, Product and Engineering to translate financial requirements into system architecture, processes, and transactions.

You will lead GL design, event models, reconciliation and controls, ensuring auditability and regulatory alignment while collaborating with architects and engineers across client projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience supporting financial systems, accounting operations, General Ledger management, or financial systems implementations.
• Experience translating business and operational processes into accounting transactions and GL requirements.
• Experience partnering with software development, architecture, or systems implementation teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate General Ledger transaction flows and posting logic.
• Define accounting event models and translate workflows into accounting transactions.
• Review system designs for Debits/Credits, Suspense Accounts, Adjustments, Reversals, and Accruals.
• Ensure transaction integrity, auditability, and traceability across the GL lifecycle.
• Validate designs align with government reporting requirements.
• Partner with accounting, operations, product, architecture, and engineering teams to translate requirements into system functionality.
• Facilitate workshops and map operational events to GL entries.
• Support testing, validation, and defect resolution for financial processing.
