Job summary

Salesforce is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the Global Accounting close process in a fast-paced environment. This role requires driving SOX compliance, preparing schedules for the 10-Q/10-K, and coordinating with internal and external audit teams.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in accounting (including public accounting) and hands-on experience with Workday or Oracle ERP. Strong Excel skills and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years total experience in accounting and public accounting (ideal candidate will have accounting firm and corporate experience)
• Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the Values & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
• Prior management experience within an accounting role
• Experience with Workday Finance, Oracle or other large ERP required (Workday Accounting Center is a plus)
• Intermediate/advanced Excel skills (e.g. complex formula & VLOOKUP experience) and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data
• Solid understanding of US GAAP with experience in technical accounting
• Solid understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley
• Ability to communicate effectively and influence, interact, and partner with cross-functional and remote teams

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close by performing variance analyses, investigating financial drivers, and providing oversight of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Collaborate cross functionally with Infrastructure, Information Technology, and Finance teams
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards, SOX controls and documentation
• Lead and prepare schedules to support the 10Q and 10K financial reporting process
• Apply ASC 350-40 and ASC 350-50 to accounting for Internal Capitalized Software and Website Development costs
• Work with internal and external audit teams to support the audit with schedules and evidence
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to accounting processes
