Job summary

Fireworks is seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant to own the month-end close and GL for a rapidly growing AI infrastructure business. You will manage journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules behind operating expenses and international subsidiaries, collaborating with AP, FP&A, Tax, and Legal.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable shaping processes as systems evolve.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of general ledger or corporate accounting experience, ideally in high-growth tech/SaaS.
• Strong grasp of U.S. GAAP and accrual accounting, including prepaid and capitalization policy.
• Hands-on experience owning month-end close tasks: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany, and foreign currency is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to build auditable schedules.
• Experience supporting external audits and SOX readiness.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and fixed asset depreciation.
• Own operating expense accruals with budget owners and compare to actuals.
• Maintain prepaid schedules and amortization for software and compute spend.
• Perform monthly flux/variance analysis on operating expenses and explain drivers.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and clear reconciling items with other teams.
• Tie payroll/benefits postings to the GL and support international subsidiaries.
• Assist with tax filings, intercompany transactions, and FX remeasurement.
• Document close procedures and contribute to SOX-ready controls.
• Identify manual steps and help automate them using ERP features and AI-enabled processes.
