Job summary

The Senior GIS Specialist at the City of Springfield (MO) will maintain core 911 GIS layers feeding the NG9-1-1 system, correct location and dispatch errors, and integrate surrounding county data into Greene County’s database to improve automatic aid and call transfers.

The role also involves creating custom maps for partner agencies, coordinating mapping needs, and delivering consistent digital and print map products. A bachelor’s in geospatial fields is required with GIS experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in geospatial disciplines or closely related field.
• One year of responsible experience in GIS applications required; two years preferred.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience; experience can substitute for education year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Maintain GIS layers supporting NG9-1-1 and ensure accurate location validation and dispatch routing.
• Integrate GIS data from surrounding counties into Greene County database for automatic aid and call transfers.
• Create custom maps for partner agencies and produce standard layouts for distribution in digital and paper formats.
