Job summary

City of Springfield is seeking a Senior GIS Specialist to maintain GIS layers supporting the NG9-1-1 system and to ensure accurate dispatch and location data. The role includes integrating surrounding county layers into the Greene County database and supporting automatic aid and call transfers with robust GIS workflows.

Responsibilities include creating maps for partner agencies, coordinating with agencies on mapping needs, and delivering both digital and paper map products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Science or related field.
• One year of GIS applications experience.
• Or Associate's degree with significant GIS coursework and two years of GIS experience.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Maintain GIS layers that support NG9-1-1 and correct location/dispatch errors.
• Integrate surrounding county data into Greene County database for accurate automatic aid and transfers.
• Create and refresh GIS data workflows for NG9-1-1 systems and internal maps used by dispatchers.
• Create custom maps for partner agencies and standard layouts for uniform delivery.
