Job summary

The Maine Public Utilities Commission Emergency Services Communications Bureau is seeking a GIS Coordinator to support and maintain NG9-1-1 GIS layers in Maine. You will work with Municipal and County Addressing Officers to keep addresses, roads, and responder layers up to date, and provide training on the online maintenance system and addressing procedures.

The role emphasizes QA/QC of GIS data, data transfer via digitizing, and collaboration with various state and local entities.

Qualifications

Three-year combination of education, training, and/or experience in GIS operations, development, or maintenance.
Knowledge of Esri products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal).
Ability to transfer data from maps by digitizing.

Responsibilities

Update roads and addresses using aerial photography and GPS collection.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control of 9-1-1 GIS layers.
Advise officials on road naming and property numbering standards; provide GIS training for Addressing officers.
Outreach to public/private entities on 9-1-1 GIS layers and data sources.
