Job summary

Dorchester County is seeking a GIS Specialist to develop, coordinate and implement GIS databases and applications in collaboration with local governments and public safety agencies.

You will manage E911 GIS data layers, perform spatial analyses, create maps and dashboards, and provide system support and training to staff. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in GIS and 4 years' public safety GIS experience; a valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in GIS Technology or related discipline.
• Four years of GIS in public safety and civil service or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate GIS activities with public safety departments and external agencies.
• Manage all GIS data for the E911 system, update layers and support addressing issues.
• Set up and operate GIS systems to manage relational database design, analyses and mapping.
• Provide GIS support during emergencies and training for staff.
