Job summary

The City of Yakima is seeking an experienced GIS Specialist to join its ITS GIS team. You will maintain geospatial data, develop web maps, and support city departments with GIS analysis and dashboards.

Responsibilities include data editing, geoprocessing, publishing maps and reports, user training, and leading GIS projects while ensuring regulatory compliance and data security. A strong background in ESRI tools is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus four years experience as GIS Specialist or GIS Analyst.
• GISP certification or Bachelor's degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.
• Must pass background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, leads, coordinates, facilitates and/or performs GIS planning, design, development and implementation.
• Maintains GIS data editing, geocoding, geoprocessing, data conversion, workflow management and QA.
• Publishes GIS data, maps, analyses, reports, charts and dashboards.
• Trains, troubleshoots and provides user support for city applications.
• Leads multi-project coordination across GIS and IT Services.
• Produces reports and communicates findings with stakeholders.
