Job summary

City of Walla Walla is seeking a GIS technician to assist in maintaining the Geographic Information System and support GIS operations for the City; provide GIS information to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include digitizing data, GIS programming, creating maps and reports, coordinating with departments, maintaining GPS data, and ensuring data quality. AAS in GIS preferred; valid driver's license required for on-site work.

Qualifications

• GIS concepts, programs, methodology, and implementation.
• ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal experience.
• Field Maps and GPS data collection experience.
• Knowledge of municipal GIS standards and data management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in GIS system use by staff across City departments.
• Digitize and input information into GIS databases.
• Develop and support GIS programming.
• Create reports and maps for city agencies.
• Maintain GPS data and respond to GIS information requests.
• Audit GIS databases and maintain standards.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Perform basic GIS analysis.
