Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a GIS Specialist to join the Geospatial Group in Spokane, WA. You will support engineering and permitting projects with cartography, data management, and geospatial analysis, growing into broader scientific studies.

Responsibilities include developing maps, managing datasets, and delivering GIS solutions across disciplines. ArcGIS Pro, online tools, and field data collection will be key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years of GIS and spatial analysis experience in engineering, hydrology, or environmental science.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science with geospatial and GIS component or credential.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro.
• Experience with ArcGIS Online and ESRI web-based applications.
• Intermediate ability to create professional cartographic products.
• Understanding of spatial analysis concepts and Spatial Analyst toolkit.
• Knowledge of spatial projections and datums.
• Experience with geospatial data formats (ESRI Geodatabases, KML, GeoPackage, JSON, DEM).
• Familiarity with Python, R, SQL, Arcade (ESRI).
• Knowledge of geospatial libraries such as GDAL and GRASS GIS.

Responsibilities

• Develop professional maps and cartographic products using ArcGIS Pro.
• Manage geospatial datasets for engineering and permitting projects.
• Perform geospatial analysis to support environmental, engineering, and scientific initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver GIS solutions.
• Maintain GIS databases and ensure data quality.
• Develop surveys for field data collection using Field Maps Designer and Survey123.
• Opportunity to develop web applications (ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Dashboards, Leaflet) as time allows.
