Job summary

Dominion Energy Virginia’s Electric Transmission (DEV ET) seeks a Consulting Engineer and GIS expert to own the lifecycle of GIS assets, from concept through end-of-life, supporting EPC, procurement, and field operations.

You will coordinate with Operations Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain and EPC contractors, drive standardization of GIS projects, and lead risk reviews, testing, and vendor management to ensure reliability and long-term performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with GIS physical or conceptual design is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of transmission and substation equipment and GIS concepts.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including public speaking.
• Ability to think analytically and interpret codes and standards.
• Supplier relations management experience and PC proficiency.
• Experience with engineering calculations using standard software.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison between Operations Engineering, Project Management, Construction, and suppliers to align technical expectations.
• Support schedule alignment, change orders, drawing coordination, and constructibility discussions.
• Lead bidding activities for capital GIS projects and review bid packages.
• Standardize EPC projects for GIS systems to ensure reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with SOC and planning to align workflows with reliability needs and vendor contracts.
• Act as main vendor contact for GIS projects, including testing, audits, and warranty management.
