Job summary

West Virginia is seeking a GIS DBA 2 to lead the OEHS/GISTA GIS and technical applications team, overseeing GIS databases and related line-of-business applications. You will coordinate data standards, data loading, and complex geospatial workflows while guiding a multidisciplinary group.

The role requires ArcGIS Enterprise and SQL Server expertise, Python automation, and ASP.NET Core/Javascript development capabilities. Bachelor's degree in GIS/CS and four years of GIS experience are requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in GIS/CS or related field is required; substitutions possible with advanced degrees.
Experience leading GIS teams and managing GIS databases and workflows is expected.
Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and SQL Server administration is required.

Responsibilities

Leads the GIS team, oversees project planning and aligns operations with goals.
Manages GIS lifecycle, servers, databases, and desktop applications; ensures security and DR.
Drives development of web apps using ASP.NET Core and JavaScript; automates workflows with Python.
Oversees data standards, QA/QC, loading, and translation workflows for geospatial data.
Serves as liaison between GIS, engineering, IT, and regulatory teams for decision making.
